| A very good interview is on the cards today as Clerk Casey (CityVille Community's Manager) brings us an exclusive interview with her fellow colleague who is CityVille's product manager! Isn't that great Clerk Casey has given her time up for you to interview CityVille's product manager Chris? Well we think its great she's doing this for us as we get to know the people behind the making of the game we all love to play! Maybe if your lucky you might just get the chance to drop by in their headquarters and meet up with the CityVille team, Wouldn't that be an awesome achievement? We think so! Without further or do we'll proceed with a short introduction then the interview will commence. Chris is a Project manager for the CityVille team and helps produce and maintain ideas whilst he is the person in charge of the CityVille team in some terms. This is a wonderful oppurtunity to get to know him and i'm sorry he'll be back sometime soon! Let the interview commence! Clerk Casey: How are you doing today?
Chris: I'm doing well. It's a nice sunny day in San Francisco having a good time and working hard!
Clerk Casey: So Chris, What’s your favorite part of CityVille?
Chris: Oh that's a tough question there are so many different parts that I really like. If I had to choose just one, I'd have to say decorating my city. Rearranging things around, getting the perfect little shopping center with all of my businesses lined up, making sure all of my people are actually able to navigate around in a cool cool way and making sure they have enough stuff to do.
Clerk Casey: So, what do you do?
Chris: I'm a product manager. So basically I work with designers, developers and artists to actually go and create new features for CityVille.
Clerk Casey: Out of everything you have worked on in the game, what was the most challenging?
Chris: I think the most challenging thing was actually before we launched. So I joined the team a couple of months before we launched and it was really tough. We spent a lot of time making sure all of the different dynamics of the game were right. So we really built maybe a couple dozens versions of CityVille until it really felt just right. The whole supplying your businesses with goods, and then collecting them and having houses produce population. It took us a while to come to that and we think it paid off and it feels good.
Clerk Casey: Out of everything you have worked on in the game, what was the most fun?
Chris: I think the funnest thing was the Police Station Helicopter. That thing is awesome! The way it flies off the heli-pad and flies around capturing bandits is really really fun. It was fun to see that come together. We had great artists, 3-D Animators, and developers to pull that together.
Now it's time for the hard part:
Clerk Casey: If you could have only one super-power, tell me what would it be?
Chris: This is tough. I'd have to say flying! Cause it's everyone's favorite right? You always have dreams where you are flying. Today flying would definitely be it!
Clerk Casey: If you had to eat the same lunch every day until the end of time, what dish would you choose?
Chris: That's difficult. I'd have to say Dim Sum. So like Chinese or Cantonese Dim Sum. Any dish from Dim Sum would work.
Clerk Casey: Lastly, is there anything else you’d like to say to all of our listeners out there?
Chris: Keep playing the game and keep letting us know your feedback. We definitely read your forums like everyday. It is really helpful for us to know for us to know what you are feeling and hope you guys keep playing the game and enjoying it. What did you think of the interview? Are you liking or disliking what your hearing? We'd love to hear from you! Do tell us what you think of this interview with product manager Chris in the comments section below. |
